Tirthankar Das Tirthankar is a Senior Member of Technical Staff in the Solaris Cluster team at Sun Microsystems, India. He is a core contributer in the Open HA Cluster community on OpenSolaris.org. He works in areas related to operating systems, membership algorithms, cluster upgrade frameworks and name space virtualization. He has been a major contributer to the Zone Cluster or Virtual Cluster project which is available as a part of the OHAC distributions. Prior to Sun he has worked in Veritas Software in areas related to storage and replication technologies. He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from Pune University, India. He has given talks on High Availability, Open Solaris, in numerous Universities and colleges like IIT Kharagpur, Pune University, NIT Jamshedpur, Assam University, BMS College, Amrita Vishwa Vidyalaya etc. He has also presented in FISL 9, Open Source India Week 2008, ACM Compute 2009 and user groups like BOSUG, BOJUG, PAOSUG. He is an active member of the Sun Open Source Initiative in India Engineering Center, and Sun India University program. These days in his free time he runs the Code For Freedom 2008 - 09 contest. |
