The Free Software Association - ASL (Associação de Software Livre, in Portuguese), and the Free Software Project Brazil (Projeto Software Livre Brasil) invite you to participate in the 10th edition of the International Free Software Forum (Fórum Internacional de Software Livre - FISL 10), Special Edition, that will take place in the period from June 24 to 27, 2009, at the PUCRS Event Center (Centro de Eventos PUCRS), in Porto Alegre city, RS, Brazil.
FISL is considered the largest event on Free Software in Latin America and one of the world's largest, counting with the participation of businessmen, IT managers and administrators, CEO's, CTO's of major state and multinational companies, professors, teachers, researchers, students, professionals of both public and private area, as well as the general public.
The growing number of developers of Free Software, in a cooperative way throughout the world, reflects the importance of this event that englobes the use of free software in many areas: security, education, politics, culture and technology, amongst others. It also encompasses the informatics area, the social and economic impact of information technology and the discussion over freedom of knowledge.
In 2008, FISL 9.0 had 7.417 participants from 20 countries, 402 lecturers, 58 exposing companies - apart from other 19 thousand people who participated in the event through the internet and TV Software Livre (Free Software Television, in portuguese).
