CALL FOR PAPERS
INTRODUCTION
The IX Free Software Workshop (WSL 2008) will happen in conjunction with FISL9.0 (9º Fórum Internacional Software Livre), em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. Since its first edition in 2000, FISL discuss and promotes the Free Software usage through different segments of our society. Following the same direction, the WSL aims at providing a selection of works and researchs that have been carry out in this area by academic and scientific comunity.
The WSL offers an oportunity to professors, researchers, students, and employees present their scientific works that are been developed in their universities, research centers, and industry using Free Software.
TOPICS
Authors are invited to submit original papers, which presents concluded and ongoing works, related to relavant aspects of Free Software area. The main topics of interest include (but are not limited to) researchs in Free Software in the following areas:
- Database
- Computer Networks
- Software Engineering
- Multimedia and Digital TV
- Parallel and Distributed Processing
- Free Software in Computer Sistems in general
- Sucess development and research case in university and industry
- Free Software in Education
Papers will be reviewed by a program committee of researchs in the area, considering the technical soundness and relevance to the event. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must register to the event and be present at WSL to present the work.
PAPER SUBMISSION
Papers are limited to 6 pages, including abstract, figures, diagrams, references, and appendices. Authors should submit their work registering the paper and uploading a PDF file through the electronic submission Web site at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=642
